…Omnipresence of Being

“But right before Jesus hid, he said, “Amen, Amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” And everyone went crazy and picked up stones and looked for him, but he was gone. He became Deus absconditus, the hidden God.  And yet, it is only because he is hidden that we begin to look everywhere—in faces, in skies, in stones—and sometimes find him.” (Bishop Robert Barron)

When we were kids, we would play hide and seek.  The goal was to make it back to home base without being seen or found.  With Christ though, He may seem hidden from view but He wants to be found and desires to be seen. Faith is the tool for that acuity.  God is. God is our past, present and future in the verb “to be”. He is an undefinable omnipresence of being. God’s name “I AM who I AM” is a totality of everything physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual.  Look for Him, He is there in all.

He IS right now – every day, every yesterday and every tomorrow.
