…A Heart in Pieces

Unfortunately, there will be times in our lives that will be difficult.   We may not be ready for life altering news. It may leave us numb, breathless and shaken.  The young adult son of one of my colleagues passed away suddenly. This mother is breathing but barely.  She is conscious but barely. She is making small talk but barely. She is moving but barely. She currently just is.  When our knees buckle with grief and sadness, we must remember to use that motion to call on God’s strength to do all these things for us.

When there is a tiny bit of strength available, the broken pieces of the heart must be collected, swept up and handed directly to the only One who can heal and reattach our heart to our soul.

Lord Have Mercy,

Paula
