…Grateful For Mundane

Reflections from one year ago:

Today begins with an expected snowfall of 8” ending sometime before midnight.  This is a great day for tying up loose business ends from 2016. Rummaging through receipts, updating mileage and expense reports, paying bills, filing, and organizing tax preparation documents. Of course, this is being done in the midst of also tending to children, pets, cooking meals, cleaning, writing shopping lists, throwing laundry in the machines, and all the other items that keep us distracted.  Days like this can become a bit tedious when it seems there isn’t a moment to find Jesus while we are in the throes of asking “keep, save or toss” while at the same time, attempting to find the screwdriver to fix a broken toy while the dog barks at the door to go out or come in for the 20th time!

Wait! What am I saying? This is life! I am alive! I am healthy! God has blessed me to be able to have and do all these things in this life, in all of its joys, sorrows, celebrations and mundane waves.

He is always on my heart, on my mind, and by my side. God is the extra hands of encouragement to help me complete these endless earthly tasks.   I find Him in the determination, stamina and focus to get these things done!

And now, blessed again with completion, I have a warm quiet night ahead to rest with Him in gratefulness.

Gloria in Excelsis Deo!
