…Follow Me to Divinity
“For Christians see that with Jesus human and divine nature began to be woven together, so that by fellowship with divinity human nature might become divine not only in Jesus, but also in all those who believe and go on to undertake the life which Jesus taught, the life which leads everyone who lives according to Jesus’ commandments to friendship with God and fellowship with Jesus.” Origen
We know that Jesus is God and Jesus is man. This confirms that even though we are man, we can aspire to be one with God. God made us in the image and likeness of Himself. We have the opportunity to get to know God, even with our limited knowledge and the best of our ability, so we may be like Christ while we encounter Him in our heart. Christ has taught us how to receive the graces of God. I like to think of how humans are very pliable. There is a negative saying of “If you lie down with a dog, you are bound to get fleas.” There is a very positive and inspiring opposite as well: If we stay close to Christ, in friendship and fellowship, we are bound to be touched by His Divinity..and that is a very good thing.
