…Joy, God’s Gift to Man
Oh man, today is the day I have been pining for! Vacation! Each year, there is much work, sweat, aches, pains and migraines to get to this spot. I was ecstatic to be here and no one and no thing was going to steer me away from this reward! God gave me the strength to persevere to get here and God will give me the strength to enjoy it!
It was a day on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It was a purposeful retreat to sit and just gaze at the horizon where dark sea water meets the light of the clear blue sky. I am on bliss overload with every lap of the gentle waves and every squeal of the seagulls. Even though my husband, a few of my kids and loads of families around me, I was alone in my thoughts and ponderings. Most times I was interrupted by “How long are we staying? Are you going in the water? Can you pass the sunscreen? And, of course, do we have any snacks?”
I still was able to sit, relax, and be thankful for that beautifully, gorgeous day created and gifted just for me. Well, maybe not just for me, but God certainly made me feel wonderfully blessed, and quite joyful, like it was all prepared perfectly for the need of my soul.
God is woven within each of our days, how could it not be cherished?
