Today I visited with a friend who sprained her ankle and was homebound for healing.  She loves the Catholic faith and has been actively immersed in varying aspects of teaching, engaging and inspiring her entire 69 years of life..and still going.  Recently, due to other health issues, she formally retired but as was expected, is feeling a bit lost as to the next chapter of God’s planned journey for her within the Church.  

As she sat with her bruised leg elevated,  we discussed several visions and likelihood of remaining involved, but at a more comfortable pace.  Keep in mind, she is only 3 weeks into her “retirement”. The scene prompted me to say “you realize that even Jesus needed to rest.”    Accept the rest “good servant”… much more will be asked of you. She couldn’t deny.
