…What’s the Diff?
In these blogs, I hope that there is preaching as well as teaching. My friend accurately (albeit derogatorily) described the Scripture passages as “preaching” but that she could relate to the personal reflections. So if she is saying the Scripture preaches then the corresponding personal reflection hopefully teaches and illumines the Scripture in a personal way. And if that is the case, I have received another Divine affirmation of His purpose in my life.
In the Bible, Scriptures read that “Jesus preaches and teaches…” He is preaching the Gospel to non believers and teaching the specifics to the believers. My friend doesn’t know it, but she is a prime example. She is a Christian, aware of the Bible and 10 commandments and the difference between right and wrong, as well as the importance of prayer, and seeking God in her life. She doesn’t want to be “preached” to because she already knows…but we all need to be taught exactly what that preaching means.
For all those who have opened their gift of faith, we come to an understanding of the LORD in our life, at our own pace and capacity. He doesn’t rush us, He knows our heart and our intentions.
