…Affirmation From Afar

Last night while driving home from a long day of work, I received my weekly random text from my friend the priest in Africa. I didn’t realize at the time, that it would have encompassed my whole weekend.  My first thought after receiving was “Yes and at times almost overwhelmingly fulfilled”.

Tonight, my son and his family came for dinner.  I gave the Mom a prayer cube to share with her 3 yr old son.  I introduced it as something to start the dialogue with God.  She replied “Oh, I could use this myself!”  Well, needless to say, that opened the door to her inquiries. It was a pleasant conversation that was lead by the Holy Spirit.

This conversation, like the others over the weekend, also encompassed the most important factor first…having a relationship with God – and whatever that looks and feels like for them.    I reminded her that God gave us free will to reach out to Him or not. I said, rest assured, He is waiting patiently for you and all of us to do just that. He is right there, knows exactly what we need, and how He can help us have the best, most awesome life.
